About Me

Hi, I'm Nichoal Muro. It's nice to meet you!

I am currently an engineering student at El Paso Community College,
where I am majoring in Computer Science. I am also an active Web Developer Chair
for the Association of Computing Machinery at EPCC. I plan to transfer to the University
of Texas at El Paso for Fall 2021, where I will pursue a Bachelor of Science
in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering. While attending
college, my coursework has provided me with various programming experiences and
challenges, where I've gained knowledge, adapted and overcame. I am an enthusiastic
yet patient learner, and I am always looking for new ways to improve. It is my goal
to have a career as a full-stack developer, and utilize my skills to the best of my
ability in all of my work. It would be my pleasure to be a part of your team as an engineering intern.

My Projects

During my technical journey, I have used Java in my Udemy course
and Programming Fundamentals I college course to learn the language,
solve problems provided by the courses, and create small projects such as a grade calculator,
falling distance calculator, body mass index calculator, user validation project, quadratic calculator,
file processing project, and more.

While using Python, I have developed a pet feeding reminder. This reminder sends scheduled
automated text messages using Twilio—a communications platform—with the purpose of alerting pet
owners to feed their pets and maintain consistent feeding times. I created this project on my own
and I applied knowledge that I gained from the listed Python Udemy course.
